Construction Park / Amsterdam Central Station
The construction site inside of the building, though which is public space, is middle tunnel. There is nothing for the public, just damages because of the construction and something which have to be hidden inside of the building. It is meaningless space. However, if you stay there for some moment, then you will realize there are some sound of birds, even though you cannot find birds in that space. It is not easy to recognize bird singing, because “Sight covered Sound”.
I will put Stuffed animals inside of the building. Those would be birds and squirrels living in the Netherlands. Therefore, I would let people feel curious and confuse faked animals with real sound which comes from somewhere in the station, also let them imagine if the reason of damages of the building were caused by construction or animals.
By doing so, that construction site gets the possibility to be a place more for public, and they can enjoy that space itself as a sort of park.
Many Stations in the Netherlands are under construction now. The visions of future station are bright, but it will take several years to come true that vision. During that period, passengers cannot avoid inconvenience. Therefore, the purpose of this project is devising temporary design for passengers without touching original concept of future station.
